TekSavvy donates to devastated Elliot Lake businesses

June 28th, 2012. Chatham, Ontario.

TekSavvy Solutions Inc. of Chatham-Kent announced today it is donating $25,000 to help relocate the businesses affected by the heartbreaking Algo Centre Mall collapse in Elliot Lake last week.

The decision was made to send the aid as quickly as possible, “as it will likely also spark others to contribute while the situation is still fresh in people’s minds,” says TekSavvy founder Rocky Gaudrault.

“There are some 15 to 20 businesses that were too small to have sufficient coverage to survive this catastrophe without support,” he explains.

The TekSavvy team has a strong connection to the city that has found itself so tragically in the news in recent days. Founders Marc and Rocky Gaudrault, and Vice President of Sales Guy Myre were born and raised in Elliot Lake.

“Marc and I, and Guy, too, are from there, so supporting the rebuild/healing is the way to step up.”
